[YouTube] We Must Type in Motion (Carbon Cap Contest)

This is a project I worked on for the Carbon Cap Competition hosted by the Environmental Defense Action Fund at http://www.edf.org/competition. It’s a kinetic typography piece focusing on basic fundamentals of typography and timing to the music and voice over track. I tried to make the color palette and the animated accents match the tone of each segment and provide the viewer with the the essence of the message.  I’m very proud of the outcome, especially since I completed the majority of this project within 1 day. I did all the motion design and graphics while the audio was provided by the colleague of my friend who originally came to me for my help on this project. In the end this was not submitted to the competition due to the lack of a contract that led to many disagreements and the withholding of valuable information that I required to comfortably turn over my hard work.  It’s a shame and once again a reminder to always make a contract before you begin work, even if it’s volunteer work for a friend of a friend and the deadline is a few days away. Always make a contract!
